C4I is more respected than ever. Major General Frank Barrett “Barry” Horton III had a tremendous influence on me personally and in the direction of my career; he was a friend and a mentor until he died in 1997. He rests in peace in Arlington. He deployed to Afghanistan, where he was injured in the line of duty and received the Purple Heart for his sacrifice. When he returned home, he faced battles that were unseen, and despite his strength, those struggles became too heavy to bear.He was a loving son, a devoted brother, and a light in our lives. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering love will never be forgotten. I miss you Pop. Even though your passing was expected I was not ready for you to go. You knew you had to enter the Airfoce or be stuck in Alabama working on someone’s farm but you left any way. There are so many things I want to say but the message is getting long. I hope you found mom, grandma, and all the friends you lost along the way.
